Do you hold back from talking about your new business, from sharing your message on social media because you're worried what ex-colleagues or friends and family will say?
I remember walking into my boss's office at a London bank to resign from my IT job because I had decided to move to Spain and start a sewing business for flamenco costumes.
I worried about how he'd react.
He was surprised, admitted he thought I was nuts but fine. In fact, he offered me to work remotely for a few months which made my transition a lot easier.
When I told my parents and friends some would say they thought I was crazy, others just gave me “that look”.
I went ahead anyway.
Call me stubborn 🙂 but I think you can listen to advice but you can't let other people's fears, insecurities or values dictate what you do or don't do in your life.
So if you don't post that article, if you don't publish that video because you dread other people's reaction take a moment to reflect ..
☛Do you REALLY know what they'll think?
☛If they think you've lost the plot or are a failure (some will) what do you make that mean?
☛Have you ever disregarded the opinion of these people?
☛What's different now?
Are you up for an experiment?
Post the thing and see what happens 🙂
