We talk about how
  • our upbringing determines how we see what's possible in life
  • a serious health scare like cancer helped her put things into perspective and to decide to live life consciously, which lead her to start her own business
  • courage isn't really what it's all about
  • she and her husband decided to quit their jobs in India and move to the UK
  • it's only when we draw out our inner stories that we can share our “outer” story

As always, if there is a topic you’d love me to talk about, or know someone who’d be a great guest, or you’d love to be a guest yourself get in touch, leave a comment below, contact me via email or social media. I’d love to hear from you!

Meet Parul Banka - Storytelling Coach

“I am Parul. I am a storyteller on a mission. My mission is to help fellow coaches sparkle through their personal stories.

When I am not coaching, I love donning the hat of a speaker. I have experience of raising crazy amounts of funds for cancer charities through my persuasive and inspirational speeches – How does over 50,000 pounds in one single evening sound?

I am a ‘Distinguished Toastmaster’ from Toastmasters International which is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving communication and leadership skills. ‘Distinguished Toastmaster’ is the highest award that Toastmasters International give to their members.

I have over 10 years of corporate experience in people management and learning and development roles before moving into coaching full time 5 years ago.

My book “My Cancer Journey – A rendezvous with myself” is a humble attempt to raise awareness about cancer, empower those going through this life-threatening medical condition and to challenge the stigma that accompanies the word ‘cancer’ in many cultures.

I enjoy cooking, writing poetry and travelling. Hopefully, one day I would be able to see most of our beautiful planet. Most of my cooking and poetic creations turn out well. ?

I have a thing for the words ‘sparkle and ‘magic’.”
