In February 1989 I got out of East Germany.
I arrived in the West with lots of enthusiasm and a half finished uni degree, so my first project was to find a university to finish my studies.
I was worried about my English.
I felt intimidated because the other students had had access to English books, movies, conversations with native speakers, travel all their lives .. I expected their language skills to be way ahead of mine.
But they weren't.
On the other hand, West German students studying Russian knew the language much better than I did, and for Russian I was the one who'd had access to all the resources.
Why do we keep searching for new resources but don't take full advantage of what we have?
Question for you ..
If you stopped today and looked for resources that you have available right now but aren't fully making use of ..
.. what would you find?
and more importantly
.. what will you do with them?
